I am going to make a list of everything I throw out.
Not things like used tea bags and orange peel, but things like broken phones and watches.
Then when I need one of these things in seven years I can look on the list and not search the house for something I threw out.
And if I am really diligent I may make another list of everything I move to tidy up. I
I still can't find one of my quilt covers and I know I would not have thrown it out as I liked it and used it but it is nowhere to be found.
I have had much practice at locating lost duvet covers. Undo all your duvet covers and peep inside. You perhaps put another one on over it (easily done if despite being your favourite you wanted a different one on view when you had visitors). Or it's at the back of the airing cupboard, dropped down out of sight. Or waiting to be washed in a pile you shoved out of sight years ago.
If you had a horse in the family I would say it had most likely been purloined and cut up for stable rubbers.
Sounds like a good plan, Furby. Not sure what my resolution would be yet. Have to give it some thought.
Btw down the backs of drawers is another place I lose things.
Well I have looked in all the other covers I can find and no hidden covers.
Good thinking though I would not have thought of that.
I don't have an airing cupboard so it isn't there.
I start imagining things like perhaps I put it on the line and forgot about it and they knicked the clothes pegs too so I never realised. And other conspiracy theories even more bizzarre like aliens abducted it.
As there are a limited number of places one can put a quilt cover really.
I'm going to wake up on New Years Day with my head spinning. That'll be my New Years Revolution.
No worries about quilt covers, I like my old fashioned blankets.
If I had a maid to make the beds and vacuum the bedroom carpet and wash and dry the bedding, I may have kept my blankets.
I did find the duvet cover.
I have one of those divan beds with under drawers and it had fell off the back of the drawer onto the fabric at the bottom of the bed.
I didn't always keep a list of what was cleared out especially last year or was it the year before but I did start it again. All I need now is to be able to decifer my notes when I need them.
This year's New Year's resolution is the same as every year before, for decades now.
I again Resolve to Resist Ranting.
Oh there is much value to be had from a good storming ranty splurge!
Furby.... it took eight years to find it?
mind you that gives me hope... I have lost so many dear treasures over the years... maybe it will all come yet to light.
Furby, glad you found that. I don't have one of those beds now, but I remember them and you could lose a lot of things in that space.
Asy, don't stop ranting! Discontent with how things are is what got us out of the caves we used to live in.
I'd sooner give up chocolate.
